Bloomsday Szombathely 2025: we can also take a peek underground at the Szombathely Keptar Gallery
A special group exhibition opened on the second day of Bloomsday, showcasing the works of 30 contemporary artists.
The series of exhibition openings continued on Saturday as part of Bloomsday. The special group exhibition entitled Under the Earth found its home at the Szombathely Képtár Gallery, organized by the Westwerk Art Workshop Cultural Association, and presents the works of more than 30 contemporary artists:
Gábor Áfrány, Orsolya Baki, István Erőss, Imre Farkas, Judit Fischer, László Győrffy, Dániel Horváth, Kund Kopacz, Péter Lichter, Ferenc Masszi, Virág Márfi, Miklós Mécs, Gergely Mészáros, Bettina Módra, Márió Nemes Z., Klára Orosz, Gyöngyvér Pálfi, Ágnes Péter, Eszter Péter, Dávid Rasperger, Miklós Soltis, Péter Somody, Eszter Söptei, Péter Sudár, Rita Süveges, István Szántó, Nóra Szirmai, Judit Tomcsik, Kinga Tóth, Norbert Tóth, Viki Tóth, Gábor Veres, István Zachar We can linger over each of their unique works.

The exhibition was opened by Sophie Motley, artistic director of the Project Art Center in Dobulin, and film director Csaba Bollók. The exhibition, curated by Orsolya Baki and Imre Farkas, features photos, films, computer graphics, sculptures, and installations, and will be on display until September 3.
The exhibition opening was accompanied by a series of lectures on Saturday morning entitled "Close to the Soil – Living Organisms and Their Environment," featuring art historian and aesthetician Andrea Bordács (ELTE BDPK), anthropologist Dr. Gábor Tóth (ELTE BDPK Department of Biology, Szombathely) and Fruzsina Félegyházi, managing director of the Hungarian Soil Science Society and Talajtérkép Kft. After a short lunch and coffee break, visual artist László Győrffy (MKE) and aesthetician and philosopher Márk Horváth (EKKE, METU) took the stage.
